Nice SS Soldbuch to a SS Panzergrenadier who served in Pz. Gren. Rgt. 23
NORGE - rare to find unit!! Interestingly, he was a Ukrainian
born in Odessa. Despite most volunteers hailing from Scandinavia, the
Nordland carried the widest range of nationalities found in any single
division. By the end of the war, Danish, Hungarian, Dutch, Norwegian,
Finnish, French, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss and British
volunteers and Estonian conscripts had either served in the division or
been attached to it. the Soldbuch is complete and with SS uniform
photo, it was opened late in 1944 and is well filled out with kit
issues, rifle issue for 98K, security stamps, pay entries, as well as
entries for shrapnel wounds he received in battle on March 3rd 1945 also
noted is that he died from his wound 5 months later and received the
wound badge in black. Yet another fine SS Soldbuch great research
